tarkis's Diaryland Diary

could we all be that average

he was just an average looking person.. waiting in line patiently.

a pleasant face... quick to smile... that was until we rounded the bend in the line.

sitting off to the side a woman.. very old.. frail.. tired.
I noticed her and because she was sitting in her chair and we were all standing just assumed she had been taken care of.

he saw her and immediately went over to her.. they exchanged a few words and then he got her up and to the front of the line.. got someone to get her a chair.. to help her fill out her paperwork.. made sure her purse was safe.

I assumed they were together and thought how attentive he was... assuming he was her son... not that he was young... just younger.

He got her thru the line, got her the necessary innoculation.. flu.....got her purse and cane... she thanked him for helping her... she went on her way.. they asked him if he needed to get his shotnow to go with her... he said no... they weren't together,, he did not know her..

and then he stood there waiting for an opening. He should have been before me.. I smiled letting him in line.

again he was just an average looking person... waiting in line patiently..

but he was by no means average and I am humbled before his greatness.
