Why should she be surprised? but the awakening was different. Not frightened, not sad... just awake. Aware of the dreams, as if they were a movie to be watched. and she turned on the light, walked around a bit...and then slept very little. Cautious against the future, for that is what the dreams were about last night. Her stomach tensing knowing that this will come.. one day. and so she did not sleep but smiled.
